The Story

I had the opportunity to design a logo and establish the visual identity for an upcoming streaming application by the Canadian Broadcasting Company.

Guided by three inspiration terms — ‘outdoor vintage’, ‘Canadian bright’, and ‘multiverse’ — I drew influence from the iconic original CBC logo created by Burton Kramer. Presenting five design options, I explored a spectrum from safe to edgy, accompanied by color palettes and situational graphics for client consideration.

Ultimately, the client chose to pursue an in-house rebrand, adopting the name ‘CBC Gem,’ and did not proceed with the presented concepts.
